Defibrillators save lives

It is reckoned that if one is used within 3 to 5 minutes of anyone in cardiac arrest they have a 50 to 70% chance of survival.

When hosting an event at the new Billericay Town Council Chantry Centre some Billericay Lions noticed that one had not been installed at the building. Given the number of people of all ages using the building it was felt that this would be a worthwhile piece of equipment.

After discussions with Billericay Town Council, Billericay Lions were pleased to donate a defibrillator to be placed on the outside of the building.

The defibrillator has now been installed and registered with the East of England Ambulance Service.
