Countryside Challenge
On Sunday 30 June 2024, Billericay Lions enjoyed a wonderful day at Barrow Farm Riding for the Disabled Countryside Challenge.
This Countryside Challenge showcases the very best of grassroots RDA riding – including movement and skills taken from Dressage, Show jumping and Endurance. The course consists of 12 elements or ‘obstacles’ for riders to navigate carefully, with different actions taking place at each point of the course.
The 10 Billericay Lions in attendance prepared and served hot drinks, cakes and rolls from the kitchen and manned the car park freeing up the regular volunteers to focus on the disabled riders.
In addition to his other duties, our Community Services Chairman, John Bellringer presented the awards for all the competitors.
As well as volunteering on the day, Billericay Lions donated £500 as sponsorship for the event.
