Air Ambulance

On Monday 15th September 2025, members from Billericay Lions Club visited Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Visitor Centre at North Weald Airfield.
During the visit, three volunteers explained the amazing work the Air Ambulance carries out to save lives across the county. The Air Ambulance is a charity and is funded by donations.
When we arrived the Air Ambulance was away on a call at Basildon Hospital. On its return, we were able to watch it land back at the centre. We then had the opportunity to meet the medical crew, pilot and co pilot. After which we were shown round the hanger allowing us to get close to one of the two helicopters based there.
Billericay Lions presented a £1,000 cheque for the Essex & Herts charity and were photographed with the helicopter crew.
