Salvation Army Malachi Project
Recently our members agreed to donate £375 to the local Salvation Army Malachi Project which is a project to provide accommodation and support for those on the journey out of homelessness.
Six single bed units are being provided and the donation will go towards the cost of purchasing bedding and single duvet, crockery (bought in sets of four), glasses, cutlery, dish clothes, tea-towels and other household items like washing powder/liquid. The participants on the Project will have either been in hotel or hostel accommodation and this is the next step on their journey.
Billericay Lions are proud to support this project and as always where there’s a need there’s a Lion.
The Salvation Army has taken over the running of the Malachi Homes project in Leigh on Sea which helps people move on from homelessness and rough sleeping.
The modular homes project, which was set up with partners The Hill Group, Citizens UK and Southend on Sea City Council, aims to rehabilitate people experiencing homelessness and help them to move on with their lives.
